The primary objectives of the Group IT Division are to provide a professional, structured, standardised and leading Information Services environment.

We aim to deliver to an ever-expanding customer base in line with the Group’s strategic direction. We achieve this through innovation, outstanding customer service and knowledge of our customers, be they internal or external. We are here to ensure that ISS remains ahead of the competition in all aspects of IT and also to monitor and keep abreast of advances concerning the technological environment of our industry.

Group Information is made up of five departments:

Global IT Infrastructure, the team supports the geographically dispersed ISS IT infrastructure, including servers and storage, telephony, local and wide area data networks (LAN and WAN), and email services. We are responsible for ensuring that all the Group's data, systems, and IT infrastructure is secure from external threats and penetration attempts. We manage a state of the art Data Centre in Central London, which serves as the backbone of the ISS technology estate. We also conduct semi-annual Disaster Recovery exercises in a dedicated Disaster Recovery site in the North of England, with the purpose of ensuring business continuity of the Group's mission critical systems in an event of a natural disaster or other attack on our production Data Centre. Our primary responsibility is for ensuring Disaster Recovery and the management of the state of the art data centre that hosts the backbone of the ISS technology suite. IT Infrastructure is also responsible for the management of the Wide Area Network between all offices, Telephony and Email services.

Global IT Service Delivery, with headquarters in Chafford Hundred but with staff spread across the ISS map, Service Delivery is currently responsible for providing front line support to all users, maintaining regional equipment and applications, and performing local IT procurement. However the role of Service Delivery is expanding and it is intended that they will become the single point of contact for all IT support issues, tracking and managing incidents on behalf of their customers. Perhaps most importantly Service Delivery is seeking to build close relationships with all customers to intricately understand and where appropriate contribute to the business strategy helping to ensure that wherever possible the use of IT can help to create a competitive advantage.

Application Development, the ISS Development Centre (IDC) is the in-house software development centre based in Chennai, India. The IDC supports the significant development environment within the organization.

Global IT PMO & Governance is based at headquarters in Chafford Hundred and is responsible for global IT project management. We have several PRINCE2 Practitioner certified project managers, who lead all IT project across the Group, dealing with IT infrastructure, application development, service delivery, and regional new office setups. Requests are submitted through the RFS (Request for Service) process and executed outside of (BAU) Business As Usual. Our qualified project managers are responsible for liaising with the Business requestor/overall project manager, to ensure that any IT elements of the Project are successfully delivered.

Global IT Product Management, is based in Chafford Hundred with expert personnel spread around the world, enabling them to provide both global and regional expertise. PMG is primarily responsible for the implementation of Global Solutions defined by various business units. In addition it provides application support for these Global Solutions.
